Lets break it down and take a closer look…
Staff Salary and Benefits: Our hospital system does a peer group comparison on a quarterly basis. In hospitals of approximately the same size as mine, I manage twice as many volunteers with half the amount of staff.
Paper, Postage, and Envelopes: We no longer send references by snail mail, saving at least $1.00 per volunteer application. 77% of our volunteers have email so we only mail out 165 newsletters, versus mailing out 700.
